I chose to read and review this book. It is a very sweet short collection to read. I am a fan of this genre and enjoyed this bundle a lot. Everything is well written, the plot, the flow of events and the characters. It is the right amount of seduction and hotness. The amount of erotica in this one was great. I recommend this one you will enjoy till the very end of the last story

Something Dark and Lovely

The author has taken horror classics and breathed new life into them in a unique way.
I'm not always one for reinventing an old idea, but sometimes there are compelling reasons to do so and it works. Back when these stories were first written, sexuality was a taboo subject. The author definitely read the classic books and is not relying on old movies and that impressed me. The writing is lovely and the sexuality is believable and enticing.
If you've never heard of Dracula, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde or Frankenstein I'd be amazed. They are not only classic books but pop culture icons.
I loved the reimagining of these stories and will read more from this author.

Not your every day classic.

A pretty good fit for the Mina Harker/Dracula story world. Although, I didn't like the "personal" direction the author took Mina in, I found the rest of the book interesting and engaging.

A fantastic add to your horror library.

What a fantastic read! Dark, erotic horror at it finest. Such clever, well written takes on three classic horror stories. Short stories. Hours of reading pleasure. I'm keeping this book to reread as time permits.

I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of this book.

I enjoyed reading each of the stories in this book. They are some of my favorite classics. These versions are not for the youngsters though. Definitely a hot read in spots! If you love hot and steamy, and you want to see the classic story with a new twist this is a must read!

As someone who has never read the source material of the stories in this book, I came in with no preconceived notions about what to expect. Divalle Curie took bits of the classics Dracula, Jekyll and Hyde and Frankenstein and wove into them erotic details that could have been, but weren't because of the years in which they were written. This isn't romance and HEA, this is outright suspense and horror with a twist. I enjoyed the short stories and it really made we want to read the original works. I would definitely read more of this authors work.

How amazing is it to take classic stories and add a twist; albeit a very dark twist!

I am volunteering to leave a review of this ARC book. How amazing is it to take classic stories and add a twist; albeit a very dark twist! Divalle Curie did an amazing job! She drew me into her dark re-tellings. I had a very difficult time putting this book down. Thank goodness it was three books. I could read a story an evening! I will be looking at other Curie works!

I was surprised when reading this book. It is definately not for the faint of heart or if you are unsettled about erotica. It was well written, cleverly interweaving the original material.

Paranormal Erotica of Well Known Horror Classics

Ms. Curie is a talented author, and each tale has its own style and manner of narration. Mina Harker’s Diary is written in an archaic tone, whereas the Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde stories are of a more contemporary tone and flavor. Regardless of which style of prose, Ms. Curie’s musings are fascinating and will sweep you away into a fantasy world where the unexpected happens. This is a collection of stories that expand on the erotic possibilities in some well-known horror classics. This is NOT a sweet and cuddly fluffy unicorn with a rainbow glitter tail type of tale; no, this is down, dirty, graphic and gritty. If overt sexuality and “deviant behavior” offends you, then this book is NOT for you!

I found this book to be an entertaining rendition of some of the classic horror movies from the 1930s on.
I would recommend this anthology to anyone who enjoys the classic horror movies.
as in the horror movies of the 1930's era, the sex scenes are quite graphic.

So dark and in places.

Now, this is a very interesting read so dark and in places brutal yet you find yourself unable to put this book down. I love the cover there is something so gothic about it. I loved that it was a collection of stories where the paranormal and the forbidden mixed together. I read some of the other reviews and I agree that the author wrote in the style of these classic writers that was so cool. The synopses are a great touch and the readers’ discussion will give you some insight into the author. If you like unique and interesting books this may be just the one for you. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it

Not exactly sure how I got on Divalle Curie's mailing list, I did volunteer to ARC her work. Then we had to find a format for me to read on. S'okay, it all worked out well.

I'm impressed. Seriously, I AM impressed. So much so I wish I could give a helluva lot more stars. When I opened the book the first thing that I really paid attention to was the preface because we already know the dire warnings of copyright laws. In it Ms Curie explains her desire tell her stories in the voice of the original author. I was gobsmacked. I write Fan-Fic on occasion because of the world building but I never aspired to delve so deeply into a story to replicate the author. And considering the who and genre of that author; well, I'll just tip my top hat and say well done, Madame.  (this little detail must have been over looked by the one critique who complained of such.)

A lot of effort went into this work. Aside from getting the voice and form, it was correctly written and edited. Something too often over looked by indie writers who self publish. My second (or maybe third) best compliment is for the erotica itself. - Erotica is not slam-bam, insert tab-B into slot-A. It is a soft and gently tease that builds the mounting tensions. It is flirtation for the brain; which I'm sure most women will agree, that is our most erogenous zone.

I'm out of practice waxing poetically, I lost that somewhere along the way reading and reviewing for others. Thank you Ms. Curie for giving something back.

If you are looking for a twist to some old stories and some dark erotica all in one, then you have the right bundle of short stories. These stories are dark, and not for the faint hearted. But they are extremely well written, and very enjoyable.

This author has written stories that titillate with a flair that brings a new writing style that I enjoyed. This style adds ambiance to the stories and lifts a good story to an even higher level.

I highly recommend this book and this author

I received an advance reader copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.

erotica + horror + literature

Mina Harker's Diary is not a reading experience for the romantic looking for a HEA. This is erotica + horror + literature - shaken, not stirred. I had the challenging honour of offering early feedback for these stories, which are eroticised vignettes inspired by these 3 classics of literature. They are well-crafted and cleverly interwoven with the styles of the original material. Erotica for the literate reader. I learned a lot and have been inspired to read (or re-read) the originals. I also look forward to wrestling with the Reader's Discussion Notes at the back, which I haven't seen yet!

I have read all the classics when it comes to legendary horror monsters. Dracula of course being my favorite. Sometimes I find myself in need of reading more about them and go in search of a new twist or a different POV telling of what happened. Thats how I came across Divalle's Mina Harker's Diary. I loved how the stories were taking up a notch and a spin put on them for a whole new experience. This will be on my list for a re-read in a few months.

Enjoyed each story

Not for the faint of heart in spots and definitely 18 and older should read. Great read!

I'm not sure how to describe what I feel after reading these tales that Divalle put into words. There is such eroticness along with taboo and debauchery that you can't help but continue to read. Based on the Tales of Dracula, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, along with Frankenstein these tales Divalle gives a new sense to these tales and what was back in those centeries. This a great read but during the telling of Frankenstein you might proceed with caution because this tale is not for the faint of heart for it seems more brutal in the erotica told. You will be drawn in and feel the characters as you read along.

Classic Horror Stories Reimagined

The author brilliantly captures the writing style of some of the most infamous classic horror stories and brings their own unique brand of erotica to scenes they’ve set behind closed doors. These stories are dark, and not for the faint of heart. But they are extremely well written, and very enjoyable.

What happened behind closed door in well known stories?

Did You ever asked, what happened behind the closed door in known stories? What was the relationship between Dracula and Mina? How did Abraham Van Helsing defeated the Dracula's brides. What happened when Kingkong abducted Anne Darrow. What happened betweem Eric and Christina in Phantom of the Opera? In this collection of wild erotic stories, you get the answers. The stories aren't always pleasant, and doesn't always end with happy end. But they are really steamy and passionate.

Delightful erotic stories

I very much enjoy short stories and I read many of them; these were delightful. The style in which each story is written here is so pleasantly familiar to the original author's work that it's is seductive enough (excluding the content) to be enticing. Add the eroticism to the content and the stories feel complete-more so than I'd felt they were before. Truthfully, I read so many scientific nonfiction that this was a nice escape. My favorite was Pas De Deux and the first story, although I have saved a few to read at later times. I'm saving them for when I need saving from a longer story that I likely won't finish. Good read.

Erotic scene from known movies

Its collection about what happend behind closed door in well known stories. As Phantom of the Opera, Invissible man (older version, which villain, who was present in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen), Mummy (again old version), American werewolf and many others. It not the whole stories, but only some really steamies scenes. The scenes are great written, author uses authentical English, that give more accent to the time of that story. It's not about happyend and the sex isn't always consentual, but the scenes are really passionate.

Good reimagining

My favorite of these retold horror classics was King Kong. How do the girl and Kong have sex? Very very carefully. Next up should be Dracula and Frankenstein.
